Eddie Lawrence
Eddie is now the pastor at the Elim church in Erdington.

Eddie moved to Reading in 1986 after leaving his beloved Sunderland to work in the Civil Service. He remained in the Civil Service for 18 years before taking up his present position here as Pastor at St. Saviours Christian Centre. He is married to Avril.

Eddie served a mechanical apprenticeship in Sunderland and completed a HNC in Building services as well as a BA in business studies at Reading University in 2000. He is currently working through a three year Ministry in Training programme with the hope of being ordained into the Elim ministry in 2008.

Eddie has a real passion to see God's people develop, equipped and mature, so as to extend the Kingdom of God - not only in their lives, but also to those they encounter within everyday life. Eddie has also a heart for seeing new believers being mentored and growing as disciples.

His responsibilities at St Saviours church ranged from development manager to Executive Pastor including lecturing once a month in the bible college here at St. Saviours, editor of the monthly magazine, leading a family group and teaching/preaching.

Favourite:
• music: Robin Mark, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan. Songs on the theme of grace especially those relating to the “Cross”
• books: relating to church growth and development. Lord of the Rings, Daniel and Revelation.
• TV: Sky Sports, especially when Sunderland is on!

Likes: A devoted follower of Sunderland AFC. Being surrounded by positive people and people who have a sense of humour. He is a devoted follower of Sunderland AFC!
Dislikes: Negative people and waiting for anything!
Hope for the future: To be involved in leading a church that fulfils the mission of 'Reaching up and reaching out' both to the body and local community. Eager to see the days of Acts being fulfilled in the local community.
